Watford
Grammar School for Girls is a single-sex, voluntary aided school in the centre of
Watford for pupils aged 11-18.
The
Specialist
Visual
Arts
College at the school aims to bring together the artistic / creative and the academic, so as to provide pupils at this school and partner schools, community groups and the wider community with enriched and balanced education opportunities. Through our wide range of outreach programmes we are dedicated to the provision and sharing of resources and expertise to provide new and exciting opportunities to disadvantaged and disabled individuals and groups across the community.
- We provide courses for the community in our purpose-built studios with full-disabled access and facilities.
- We employ professional artists, designers and craftspeople for schools and disadvantaged groups.
- We provide free space on two sites in
Watford for artists, students and community groups to exhibit and sell their work in the public arena. We also provide free administrational support, including publicity for these users. Our investment in these venues provides
Watford with two much-needed free gallery spaces for the public to interact with a regular programme of a wide range of art forms.
